Zcalm

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Zcalm™ a drug? Does it require a prescription?
No. Zcalm is not a drug and does not require a prescription. Zcalm contains extremely mild ingredients, including botanicals and ProElements™, which are known for their soothing and rejuvenating properties. (ProElements™ is a blend of magnesium, copper and zinc peptides and is a trademark of Mel-Co®, Indio, CA.)

Why is Zcalm superior to 100% aloe vera gel or other burn relief products?
While 100% aloe vera gel does contain soothing properties, Zcalm’s proprietary combination of calming botanical extracts optimize its use.

Zcalm is specially formulated for use after aesthetic procedures such as, laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, electrolysis, etc. Zcalm helps promote the natural healing process by supplying essential minerals and nutrients needed to help revitalize the skin.

What are ProElements™?
ProElements™ are metal peptide solutions that include the trace elements copper, magnesium and zinc. These metals, in their simple ionic form, do not penetrate well into the skin. However when these elements are complexed low molecular peptide complexes, they are rapidly absorbed by the skin. Copper, magnesium and zinc are essential to wound healing and cellular repair. ProElements stimulate the antioxidant capacity of human skin, increase rejuvenating enzymes in the skin and play a role in reducing (and reversing) oxidative stress caused by cellular injury.

How is Zcalm applied?
Please refer to the “Suggested Use” page for detailed directions.

When should I apply Zcalm?
We suggest you apply Zcalm following an aesthetic treatment such as, laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, electrolysis, etc. Zcalm may be reapplied as often as needed. You may want to use Zcalm for several days following the procedure to help soothe and revitalize the skin. Keep in mind that if post laser conditions and discomfort do not improve with the use of this or any product during the first 24 hours of use, contact your laser clinic or call your physician.

How long does one bottle last?
The 4 oz (120 gram) Zcalm“tottle” contains enough Zcalm to provide for any aesthetic treatment. Zcalm is best used within a year from the time it is opened, so it may be used for successive aesthetic treatments or used daily to nourish and maintain healthy skin.

How should Zcalm be stored?
Zcalm should be stored at room temperature (59-86o F). Keep container tightly closed.

How often can I use Zcalm?
Zcalm is gentle enough to be used as much as needed on a daily basis. Zcalm may safely be reapplied every few hours, or as needed to calm post laser treated skin. However, if post laser conditions and discomfort do not improve with the use of this product during the first 24 hours of use, contact your laser clinic or call your physician.

Can Zcalm be used on children?
Zcalm contains no ingredients that are considered unsafe for children.

How long will Zcalm’s effects last?
Zcalm’s effects will be different for everyone depending on the individual and the intensity of the procedure received.
